Case Study - West Coast Motorcycle Tours
West Coast Motorcycle Tours, provides guided motorcycle tours that explore California’s giant sequoia forests, scenic coastline, mountain passes, and lost gold mining towns.
getting a new business off to a great start.
West Coast Motorcycles was a newly founded company, with much of the requisite paperwork still being filed when the founder approached us about developing a website to market it. The client knew that he wanted to kick things off with a bang; a placeholder site would fail to showcase the professionalism of the company and the value of the tours they offered.
Given that tours like those offered by WCMT are attractive because of the scenery that tour members get to explore, we immediately knew that the site would need to leverage California’s natural splendor. We found high quality photos representative of what customers could expect to see on the variety of tours offered by the company: redwood forests, acres of grapevines, beaches trailing out into the Pacific Ocean, and more. Our designers and developers set about creating a site to feature this imagery in an immersive, even enthralling manner.
taking care of the business side of things.
While it’s easy to get caught up in the aesthetics, for the business to succeed, they needed to be able to take reservations. Our developers created a reservation that allowed people to submit payments on the site for tour deposits, as well as the final payment.
In addition, knowing that the client planned to expand WCMT’s tour options as the business grew—expanding beyond California’s borders into the rest of the Western United States—we created specialized training videos embedded in the backend of the site. In addition, we also provided in-person training, so that the company would be able to make necessary updates and enhancements to the website.
We handled all elements of design and development, and our copywriters edited content provided by WCMT. The site was launched without a hitch on our hosting service, and we continue to maintain the site.
We took a great deal of pleasure in getting to work with WCMT, and in creating a new opportunity for tourists to explore our great state. We look forward to providing continued assistance to WCMT, and helping the business to grow.
