Paragon Consulting Partners is a Sacramento-based consulting firm that advises companies in the healthcare industry on matters related to medical imaging, information technology, and data management.
Paragon Consulting Partners operates in a narrow niche of a large industry, and is thus well recognized by those in the know. Thus, it was extremely important that the quality of their website be commensurate with their standing in the community.
Being technologically up to date in a technological industry.
The healthcare industry is one that has been transformed by rapid technological advances over the last few decades. Invasive exploratory surgeries and procedures have given way to digital imaging technologies and the immense amounts of data that they produce.
Paragon Consulting Partners is a firm comprised of experienced consultants to healthcare executives, professionals, physicians, and technology experts on topics revolving around digital imaging and related IT challenges: data storage, HIPAA compliance, billing and billing capture, reporting, and so on. The members of the Paragon team have worked at a number of major healthcare companies, and each is very well known in this particular niche of the healthcare industry.
As a consequence of their prominence, the goal of the new website was not to raise awareness, but rather to properly showcase their expertise and brand in order to bring on new clients.
Bringing the website up to the next level.
Paragon is a relatively new company, and a website had been spun up quickly one of the popular free web hosting platforms (e.g. Weebly, Wix). But now that they had more firmly established themselves, it was time to deal with the less than optimal looking website, which failed to capture their level of professionalism, or the fun-loving character that distinguishes them from many of their competitors.
This was going to be one of our more straightforward projects: a fresh new, clean design, with the expectation of fewer than 10 pages of content. The pages needed to be structured to help potential clients understand the scope of their services, while making their expertise and competence every step of the way.
Early on they made it clear that they liked structuring content in a way that gave it more room to breathe and tell a story. This is reflected in how we presented their services content: rather than creating a separate page for each service, they are all featured on a single page, with an alternating tiled design interspersed with images to help break up the text and make transitions impossible to miss.
In looking at the Services page, note how photos of the team members are used to push their presence. After all, they–their experience and expertise–are the product, intertwined with each of their services. Thus, as visitors familiarize themselves with the services, they familiarize themselves with Paragon’s team members as well.
Web development and everything after.
During the process of designing this website, our CMO Josh Rubin–a veteran web designer and developer–fell in love with a new WordPress page building plugin. For years we had utilized Visual Composer for our more complex websites. But recently, we had noted that the plugin was becoming increasingly bloated, and sites based on the platform were seeing some performance issues that required a lot of work to remedy.
While looking for a solution–we never tire of looking for opportunities to do our jobs better–Josh stumbled across Beaver Builder. Beaver Builder is a flexible page design plugin for creating customized, aesthetically pleasing page designs that work well on both desktop and mobile devices. More importantly, it does all of this while still keeping sites streamlined and extremely fast. We would not be hosting the Paragon website, so being able to ensure that the website wasn’t a resource hog helped to ensure that it would load quickly and perform well no matter where it was hosted.
Beaver Builder proved to be a huge asset to our web development process, and Paragon’s website ended up being the first of several websites that we have built using the plugin.
While building the site, we worked closely with Paragon’s team to gather the content needed for the website. The flexibility afforded by Beaver Builder allowed us to quickly adjust the site design to fit their content. During this time, Paragon chose to transition to a new, shorter domain name that would be easier to remember. We handled the migration of their website, and created comprehensive redirects to ensure that no traffic would be lost due to 404s.
All in all, the process of working with Paragon Consulting Partners was a smooth, enjoyable one. It was a pleasure to work with the team at Paragon, and we hope to have the opportunity to do so again one day.
